In the Southwest you don't have Muslim families or Chistians families, most families are a mixture of both. Don't be surprised if in a nuclear family the father is a muslim, the mother is a christian and the children are a mixture of both. This is the reason no Yoruba will fight another Yoruba because of religion since it will mean that you are taking arms against your own family.


Let me also remind you that people don't vote along religious lines, they vote mainly cos of candidate's popularity and perceived ability.

You are right. Most of the families I know in the southwest are mixed. Even my family is mixed. Christian cousins, muslim uncles and aunts etc.
The way I see it, boko haram have won their battle already. If their goal was to cause division and disunity, then they have achieved it. On this thread alone, I have been able to identify so many groups, hausa, igbo, hausa muslims, yoruba muslims, catholics, yoruba christians etc. When did it come to this? The way I see it, trying to keep this country together is almost a lost course. I just hope that this shyte won't degenerate to something like the Rwanda genocide. And I blame our leaders. I served in sokoto state. Very peaceful state, except during elections. Their campaigns are freaking unbelievable. Most of the female Corpers I served with were igbo and there were no complains. In fact most of them did not even have skirts. plus if they hurled stones at your friend for wearing trousers, what about her NYSC khakis, guess she had to sew khaki skirts for her clearance and CDS.

Dont play the usual victim card. A small town of Gbongan in SW welcome 6 corpse of corp member in 2011 two of which were of same parents while the compound of all these victims is not far from one another. The whole town was thrown in tears. The east is not the only victim in this. dont cause tension and unneccessary secruity attention in your region, it can lead to civil unrest.
