No Explosive Found On Man In OAU – Osun Police by talk2smat(m): 7:12pm On Jul 14, 2014
Further to the story I published yesterday concerning a man who was apprehended on the premises of the Obafaemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, while trying to blow up one of the institution's Hall of Residence; AWO HALL, the Police Command in Osun State have come out to dismiss this claim.

According to the disclaimer issued by the Police Command in Oshogbo, it denied the report that the man, identified as Rasaki Adebayo, was found with an explosive at the Awo Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Mr. Adebayo was reportedly apprehended by some students of the university and arrested by the police on Wednesday, July 9.

The statement read: “It is true a man was arrested but he was found with a gallon of kerosene- not petrol mixed with chemical as reported – and stove which he says he wants to use and cook. No IED was found on him,” the Osun state Police Public relations officer, Folashade Odoro, argues"

Mrs. Odoro, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said Mr. Adebayo was still in police custody but could not say when he would be released.
According to reports on social media, the man was found with explosive and attempted to bomb the University hostel. You will recall that the Osun police also recently said a blast in Ile-Ife was not caused by a bomb but by fireworks.
