Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 4:51pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
@mimo1 You are not likely to face challenges but you will surely face embarrasseent with 's' of the highest order. Now imagine if you meet a professional keyboardist and he asks you to play a second inversion of AM7sus2aug/B chord , you see that? To the best of my knowledge, learning the basics helps a lot in the quest of being a professional keyboardist. BTW, you could click these links to learn the basics http://pianoscale.org and http://pianochord.org Happy Learning! |

Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 5:35pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Dramadiddy: I know a teacher would not embarrass him but won't he be embarrassed for someone that's been playing for years? @mimo1. Exactly my point! |
Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(m): 6:16pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Karleb:dats if he explains, lemme paint a scenario.. Wen I ws in sec skl, we didnt hv a music teacher, but when he came, other students in the skl were hypin me, "ah he cn play o", so the music teacher sent for me... When I came to the room, he asked if I can play piano.. Immediately, I said "yes very well ", he then asked me "wts d relative minor of C?".. I said "i dont knw dt one but I can play" lol.. If I need a music teacher and I send him a message on FB assuming, and I say, I cn play somethings but I do not understand theory, he wouldn't bother asking me what is a polychord unless he has taught me that |
Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Karleb(m): 6:26pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Dramadiddy: Now I get you. But, do you mean you've been playing since you were in sec school?! No wonder you are so good! |
Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(m): 6:33pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Karleb:lol its by determination o.. I didn't know anything for six years.. Only key C, but it took me jst a yr to learn my keys and advance. |

Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by gameboi: 9:03am On Nov 29, 2014 |
but some keys are tougher to play than others. Personally, I don't like the Keys of D and A. That's why I prefer to play in the Key of F# or Bminor. All other keys are a Piece of cake. @ drammadiddy. I prefer the 1-6-7b-4 chord progression to the other one. It has what I'm looking for. |
Re: A Thread For Keyboardists by Dramadiddy(m): 10:48am On Nov 29, 2014 |
