Text messages and alerts from phone and ipad can actually distract as the man of God has clearly stated

I'll like to correct this misconception. If Bible were to be read the way it was in the olden days, then I guess all of us might need to be carrying a mud-tablet, remember what Moses got the ten commandments with? there is nothing that has an advantage that has no disadvantage especially when it gets into the hands of abusers though, yet only a shallow understanding of the word of God will make a man conclude that you need to hold Bible before you cast out demons. Jesus never held any, yet he cast out demons, the word of God says in Joshua 1:8... this book of law shall not depart from your mouth... (not from the bible). Bible will only be meaningless if the power does not reside in the holder. Holiness and faith in the name Jesus Christ will finish off demons.

I even laugh when some people sleep with their bibles under the pillow, yet they complain of evil dreams, it doesn't make sense because the word must be stored in your heart and then from your heart there it goes through your mouth. This confirms that the word of God is only powerful when it is in your heart and mouth.

Conclusively, it doesn't matter the mode at which the Word of God is printed, whether it is on tablet, print or electronic, what matters most is that it is in your heart. Then all abuse should be avoided including distractions in the church.

There was never a time as referred to in the article, when Pastor W.F. Kumuyi made this statement or “BANNED” the use of mobile devices in the Church.

As much as every Christ-loving believer is encouraged to give God his/her full attention when in Church or in any other place, where the Word of God is being taught, this story is HIGHLY MISCHIEVOUS and MISLEADING.

There is no doubt that Technology has its place in the spread of the gospel message as well as believers’ development where such is put into proper use but its misuse or abuse is not encouraged.

Seriously, I tot about it one day when I was trying to put the comic side of my brain to use, that imagine a pastor tries to cast out a demon while holding an ipad, that the devil in the person got angry and became violent dealing with the pastor. but candidly i think you are right.
