Jonathan Seeks N162bn Loan To Fight Insurgency by abbay19(m): 12:01am On Jul 17, 2014 |
President Goodluck Jonathan has sought the approval of the National Assembly to borrow $1 billion (N162bn) to finance the war against insurgency. Jonathan made the request in a letter to the Senate President, David Mark, entitled: “Tackling Ongoing Security Challenges: Need for Urgent Action”. The president said that this action was necessary to enable government upgrade equipment, train the armed forces and security services as well as take care of other logistic needs. “You are no doubt cognisant of the ongoing and serious security challenges which the nation is facing as typified by the Boko Haram terrorist threat. President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan “I would like to bring to your attention the need to upgrade equipment, training and logistics of our armed forces and security services to enable them more forcefully confront this serious threat. “For this reason, I seek the concurrence of the National Assembly for external borrowing of not more than $1 billion,” the letter read. He said that this loan included government to government arrangement in order to effectively carry out the upgrade. The Federal Government had appropriated N968.1 billion for Defence in the 2014 budget. source http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/07/16/jonathan-seeks-n162bn-loan-to-fight-insurgency/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PmNewsNigeriaFeed+%28PM+News+Nigeria%29 |

CHAIIII!!!! There is God ooooo! 2015 don reach! Time for money to start disappearing. More money needed to bribe House of Assembly members in APC states and for "stomach infrastructure". The Senate should ask him to account for the 1 TRILLION naira allocated in 2013. What was done with it? I sincerely pity Nigeria. This is just the first of more borrowings & supplementary budget requests before February 2015 (I'll be back to quote this post to say I said so).GEJ is seriously working hard to bankrupt this country. Only the VERY blind (even the blind can see) cannot see this. If GEJ wins 2015 elections, I honestly cant imagine what this country will be like in 2019. Apparently, Jonathanians seem to forget that a day will come when GEJ 2019 will get to 2019. And even though we know he's already trying to stay beyond that (PRIMARY purpose of the ongoing National Conference/ HOA Planned Constitution Review), someone else will be taking over from him whether he likes it or not, if not in 2015, then 2019. Nigerians will then be able to sit down and fully reflect on just how much the country has been set back. Perhaps, by that time, it will seem extermely fo..oo.lish to blame "the North" for the country's problems. Kidnapping in the Niger Delta (of both expats and Nigerians) has reached ALARMING levels since 2011 (Ask the people relocating to Lagos and Abuja steady, after coughing millions to kidnappers), the life of the average Niger Deltan man, woman, or child has NOT been improved in ANY way since 2011...rather it has worsened, just like almost every sector & region across the country. Then we have this corruption problem and a leader who not only refuses to acknowledge the problem (hence the obvious festering of the problem without any solution being proposed...& instead, weakening and emasculating of the anti-corruption bodies) but is ONLY active at defending/shielding corrupt ministers and heckling the opposition (while he's being hailed for these by his goons). There is God oooo! |

We've known all the while that this government has stylishly sustained the BH insurgence so as to use it as a conduit pipe for financing 2015 elections. No problems, we're getting there. |
