Crt Or Lcd by brightk(m): 11:36am On Oct 11, 2008 |
Hello Nairalanders I want to clone a system for a friend of mine and he wants to use the system specially for graphic design and picture editing. i really dont know which monitor to choose from considering the fact that lcd are not usually sharp (maybe i havent come across a good brand) Moreover, crt are very sharp when it comes to graphics and pictures. i cant conclue tht all lcds are bad. but i have only used 2 lcds but they were not sharp. Please i need a recommendation from u guys here on which monitor to choose from. |

It depends on the exact brand and model you are looking at. Generally CRTs produce pictures with better contrast. That is not to say LCDs are bad. As we all know technology improves daily. There are LCDs (even TVs) that produce contrast ratios of about 5000:1 and even greater. LCDS have more resolution that CRTs so for graphic work, LCDs are better no doubt. If you were talking about video work then you could consider CRTs. Only very few manufacturers still make CRT monitors. |
