When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by Amobi1(m): 1:36am On Jul 19, 2006 |
This city here cost only $10 billion to build. one of the smallest budget city in the weastern world. Can't Nigeria sacrifice such money. When do u think our city will start looking like this?

naija would build one 1. when all those good for nothing poliTRICKtians start thinking straight and not their pockets 2. if only they could properly plan before selling all the space available to themselves 3. proper urban planning |

Abuja would look close to the pic if you get rid of all the (smog) pollution and all the people in the streets. |

everyone always blames the politician, if they release that cash the people under them would chop the money, the problem is in all of us. they are more important things to do in nigeria 1st before thinking about creating a city like that. |

Feel free to build your dream city. No one is stopping you. If it is worth building you will find investors. If you do not find investors, it is not worth building. Manipulate the government into spending common resources on your personal agenda would be wrong. |

Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by Amobi1(m): 3:34pm On Jul 19, 2006 |
common clown? its all about test. Naija won't grow unless we welcome outside investors. Infact we should let people with better dreams rule that nation. Am tired of hearing, Obj, etc period. And Seun, How is this my personal agenda. Seun:find investor in the country in the country were every politicians thinks local?(Do u know who i am behavior)? Do u see Abidjan, small country like ivory cost has a better city than naija"U.S NEWS" we need to think like civilize people if we want to be civilize |

What does investing have to do with politicians? |
Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by OldGlory1(m): 5:55pm On Jul 19, 2006 |
Seun Politicians create the environment for Investment to thrive. Tax Incentives, Zoning Laws, Tariffs, Loans,Export free zones,Industrail zones and capital expenditure ETC. No wonder we cannot develop and maintain anything. We elect people that cannot think and our populous suffers. Seun a perfect example is New Orleans post Katrina. The Mayor and companies have come up with a robust rebuilding plan that in part helps the city rebuild, and give businesses an incentive to take the risk. |

Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by Puleza(m): 3:07pm On Jul 20, 2006 |
Cant you people UNITE and protest against this criminals. That's the sad part of Africa, I'm glad that the likes of Mozambique and Angola ahev now got goal-focused presidents. Plenty of South Africans are buying land and building properties in Mozambique. One of South Africa's PSL Clubs, Kaizer Chiefs, will be building its own stadium. I'm expecting this to happen in Nigeria. I got the photos for you. These people are like whites, they making sure that the richer gets more richer. |

Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by mustafar1: 12:56am On Jul 21, 2006 |
nobody is blaming poliSTEAL-tians all i'm saying is if policies are totally implemented without someone throwing in a spanner or wrench then projects such as the forth mainland bridge would get completed in good time and more projects as such would see the light of day. ever wonder when the stadium in surulere lagos would ever get finished and peoples would start to use it. |
Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by OldGlory1(m): 1:31am On Jul 21, 2006 |
Must-a-far I thought that project was done? Wasn't it Julius Berger building it back in the late 90's? But the one in Abuja is done right? Amobi Nigeria will never be like Lexington, at least not in your lifetime. You need to bring down your expectations. Maybe you might compare Nairobi or Abidjan, but not any Major city in the USA. |
Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by Amobi1(m): 1:53am On Jul 21, 2006 |
Nairobi or Abidjan? Then we should stop draggin. Giant of Africa my Ass. |
Re: When Will Nigeria Build A City Like This? by Puleza(m): 3:57am On Jul 21, 2006 |
What I meant about "Whites" was the fact that the Nigerian Polotical leaders act and think like whites who didn't care about the rest of the black majority in South Africa. The stadium is to be build by one of South Africa's Soccer Billionare and he used to play soccer himself and he started the soccer team soon after arriving from the US in the early 70s. I hope the like of JJ Okocha, Ngwanko Kanu and so forth will also invest back into the community. Yes, I agree with the guy who says that we need not to blame the politicians solely, you the people of Nigeria need to also take responsibility by forcing your local municipalities to create by laws and so forth. On the last local government elections in South Africa, the President of the ANC, The Hounarable Thabo Mbeki, promised the nation a better service and the now elected local governemnts are made to sign 3 months contracts for which after that their service are evaluated and if you fail you are taken out of the office immdeiately. Why can't Obasanjo introduce the same thing? We should learn from each other as Africans. The West, The Asians, Europeans etc are helping one another and they thrive for making sure that the people's lives are better, why can't our African governments do better. Which African nation is rich through oil? The answer is none. We got so many natural resources in our continent but they are being utilised by Europeans for the own benefits. I think this is the time for you Nigerians to stop complaining and make sure that you take upon yourselves to make your country a better place. I love Nigeria as I said before and I hope everyone will rise to the occasion and realise that Nigeria can easily be a better country than South Africa and money other countries accross the world. |

@Kola does Nigeria not having those kind of sweet looking cities mean 1 more empolyment? 2 Less crime? itz just a case of Kola beign Kola, always making excuses 4 Nigeria's deplorable state. |
