If your ring and index fingers are close together, beware. According to research published in the journal Rheumatology, the closer together your ring and index fingers are together the more likely you are to suffer from severe knee osteoarthritis.

How come some people are great at sports and others struggle? According to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine the length of people’s fingers might be key to understanding peoples varying sporting abilities.

The research found that women whose ring finger was longer than their index finger were better at sports, especially those sports that involve running.

Most women’s ring fingers are shorter than their index fingers, however if you were exposed to high levels of testosterone in the womb, your ring finger might be longer than your index finger.

Did you know that your brain consumes 10.8 calories per hour? Even though the average adult brains only weigh 1.4 kilograms, which is around two per cent of total body weight. That weird fact puts a whole new spin on the phrase ‘brain food’.

It turns out we’re all a little shorter in the evening that we were in the morning. Apparently, we shrink and come evening we’re all one per cent shorter than we were when we woke up.

We all feel a little blue from time to time, but researches from the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences have found that when we feel depressed we do actually cool down. On heat maps this means that when we feel low, our bodies are shown to literally turn blue. Fascinating.
