It could be argued that relocating potential social hazards back to their states of origin (for free) hardly counts as deportation, but social responsibility. |

Emyo: Any state that want to continue with this can hide under the umbralla of registering the entire occupants of his state no matter your origin. By so doing you will be able to ascertain the numeber of foriengners in a state. How is this greater then Boko Haram Nice idea. The only problem is "who is a foreigner?" Is it the man from Imo residing in Abia or the man from Anambra residing in Warri? or the Lebanese residing in Abuja. Please define who a foreigner is. 3 Likes |

ichidodo: Eye-service,FG has no right to ban anything.....they couldn't do anything for Sharia,why the grandstanding?? Registration and curbing of Boko haram south east infiltration should continue.....The constitution guarantees the right of every Nigerian to reside in any part of the country without let or hindrance. The purported registration of Northerners is mere political theatre, which will not add anything in the battle against Boko Haram. |

I see untraveled and unexposed Nigerians crying wolf about plans by some states to issue ID cards to residents. I ask what is the problem with that? I have lived in 5 different countries in 3 continents and in one of those countries (not Nigeria) I lived in 3 different states. In each of these countries (apart from Nigeria) I was issued with an ID card. I even have 3 different state IDs. SO what is the big deal about issuing Igbos living in the North with ID card? What is the big deal about issuing same to Northerners in Igboland? What is the big deal about Yorubas in Igboland and vice versa possessing residence ID cards? Perhaps this is one good thing that Boko Haram has done for Nigeria, as it would allow you to know who your neighbour is. There are other more important things to ban in Nigeria such as Boko Haram, corruption and certificate forgery. 3 Likes |

If this directive is as true as it sounds, then the FG should understand that any attack on Imo State or any part of the south east by these bloodthirsty animals will be counted as their fault as they've just killed off the only reliable move to stop any form insurgency in the region. You don't seem to know whether countries have set of rules and regulations guiding their conduct.
