LMAyedun: BREAKING: Nigerian Air Force Jet crashes in Borno

A Nigerian Air Force Mi-35 Helicopter on a training mission has crashed, the Defence Headquarters has said.

The jet crashed this afternoon due to technical fault at a location South of Bama, Defence spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, said in a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES.

The statement did not say whether anyone was killed or injured in the crash.

Mr. Olukolade, a Major General, said investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the accident.

He however said the accident was not a result “of any enemy action”.
Further details on the crash, Mr. Olukolade said, would be made known as investigation progresses.

Bama is one of the locations in the North-east state of Borno where the extremist Boko Haram sect has intensified its terrorist activities.

Nigerian military can lie o! Amidst every other safe ground in Nigeria, they chosed Bama for training. The truth is not hiding in this report. Boko boyz has taken it to a new dimension.

The deaths of some of the helicopter crew is the great loss here. Few things make a family prouder than having a pilot for husband/son/father or brother. so, to bare witness to some of these highly talented people going down like this is a huge tragedy and loss to all concerned. God's strength to the family, commiserations to colleagues.

The other things don't mean much in the long run if Nigeria wills it. Whether DHQ lied or not about how Helicopter went down is neither here nor there. True of false, justifications can be made to the satisfaction of either side of the argument. If Bokoharam brought down helicopter, they wont be the first of last terrorists group to do so. If they didn't bring it down this time they may next time.

For me the oddest thing is how people set such store by the thought that bkoharam might have brought it down. They then go on as though tomorrow will not come. Okay, fine Bokoharam did this, Bokoharam did that, oh, Nigeria is so rubbish, all that boast about being the giant of Africa and look at Boko giving them a bloody noes, hip-hip-hooray!!

Oh, yes, but there's tomorrow. Tomorrow Nigeria could go buy all the modern equipment required. End of story.

The ultimate problem is our borders.

If the jet was shot down, that means the country is in a bigger problem.

Why the insurgent suddenly got that ability?

Hope that nigeria is not be using as a "playing chess" on the international scene.

Jakumo:

I note some glee and celebration from your mocking choice of words in your response to this news of a federal military helicopter crash.
These kids here think evrything is a joke-they don't understand the phsycology of war.

You can never see an American mock their military or try to dampen their spirits in war time, because they know the consequences of such dumb acts-they will be directly jeorpardising their safety by raising the morale of their enemy...but again, this kids can not think this far...they just don't get it.
