Doctors say they removed 232 teeth from a tumor in
the mouth of a 17-year-old boy in India.
According to News.Com.Au, the surgery was
performed Monday in Mumbai.
Reports say 17-year-old Ashik Gavai, began to
struggle when biting and chewing and complained of
painful swelling in his jaw. Gavai tolerated the pain
for years but was unable to afford surgery.
Recently, Gavai underwent a seven hour surgery in
which the doctors pulled 232 of his teeth and
diagnosed him with "complex odontoma." The
condition cause him to grow a tumor in his gums that
filled with lots of teeth.
The operation was a success and he is expected to
heal without any deformities.
