Hello fall 18 hopefuls and fall 19 aspirants, i have been going through every detail on this thread and I have benefitted from every bit of it and hope to still keep benefitting from it.
I would like to share a bit of my experience in hopes that this may motivate fall and spring 19 applicants.
My application status is as follows:
UCSC - Ms Applied economics and finance Admit (4k funding)
UIUC - Ms Finance Admit
NCSU - Ms Financial Mathematics Reject
RPI - Ms Quantitative finance and risk analytics Admit
UNCC - Ms Mathematical Finance Pending
OKSU - Ms Quantitative Financial Economics Admit (Full ride as an RA)
Stevens Tech - Ms Finance Admit (10k funding)
Illinois Tech - Ms Finance Admit

I would normally have thought I had a low profile compared to what I have seen on here, but from what I have learnt so far, each applicant is peculiar and Gods favour accounts for much more.
I gave gre a go but was not close to my target score (156Q 155V 4AWA). Regardless of this I stuck to my timelines and worked on other aspects of my applications. I am forever grateful to my recommenders and sop reviewers, it helped cover some of my shortfalls, My personal experiences, work experience also helped a great deal. I wanted to outsource the SOP thing but while I was doing that I was required to write something on my background, before I knew it I had written over a page and I was only halfway done. At that point I decided to write it myself. I hoped and prayed after applying and before I knew it admits started rolling in.
My advice is research on your schools, have a target gre score (get at it and don't be like me), have a plan and timeline for every bit of the application requirement and stick to it. Augment your profile with the God factor.

W.E : 2 years (relevant to some of the coursework)
Publication: None, tho, I helped with a journal

Not up to 24hours ago that I called B.Y maffit’s customer care centre when I was hoping to pay 45k for my GRE registration but to my greatest surprise they said they’ve stopped thier “one time promo” . enabling the amount to go back to its usual price of 90k. I was even begging them online that they should please accept 60k becuase they never told me it was promo. . On getting to nairaland as usual to seek for help I bumped into this superhuman whose nickname is lincoffm... . Chai and choi! He helped me with an affordable price with discount of 50% as I was able to remove change from the initial 45k and still pay for registration. As in ehn. I was at home and my registration was completed without stress. @lincoffm. May the raining showers of blessings continue to fall on you. Let the world say amen

I got them all for free. I can't imagine paying 90k in the name of getting free materials. Difference is more than clear. Moreso; if I had paid 90k for this exam I would have been more tensed preparing for it
