Hi House. I had to start this topic because of my personal experience.
I was at the supermarket a couple of days back to get my usual Colgate Total toothpaste. I was suprised to see the shelves "swept" clean of all non-Nigerian brands of toothpaste. How did this happen i asked? NAFDAC they answered.
I've used Colgate for the better part of my life with excellent results and that's why i really wonder at this current campaign by NAFDAC to brand all foreign produced toothpastes as bad.
Is toothpaste a Nigerian invention? Do manufacturers based in Nigeria possess a unique toothpaste formula which no one else knows about? Are there no fakes, made and branded as true made in Nigeria toothpastes?
I recall that a few years back, Close-up asked their users to destroy the toothpaste tube when the product was finished. This was clearly a response to the proliferation of fakes.
So, is NAFDAC right, wrong or just simply overzealous.
