Fact: According to a poll, Obama is the worst US President

Haha, lizard will do but Bush/Cheney did not. They borrowed a lot of money to fund wars only to go directly fund Boeing, Lockheed Marting and their likes under the guise of defense contracts. Please tell me how the transportation administration FARED under their administration. What was their funding... Oya, take a shot at it, and if indeed I'm wrong, I will apologize. grin

are you saying there was no spending on federal projects during Bush term? u know that's not true right?. I don't need to really start pasting proof here for someone to believe that. there are federal funding for infrastructure every year. there are just different priorities depending on the lobby. even the so called silver metro negotiations went on for a long time.

Are you saying Obama didnt borrow a penny? all these stuff you are talking about are minute issues and not what i am asking for. these tangible things cant be counted as achievements.

My broda, he is the worst president according to the polls, because of several reasons. Compared to his predecessors, achievement for achievement, who's worst? Obama isn't the best, he's had his flaws but for someone to call him the worst without ANY facts to prove he's the worst is nothing short of lipsrsealed

Really? If the govt doesn't spend money, how do you expect the economy to heal? Let's start with basic economics, how does an economy recover from recession if the govt doesn't spend to spur it? I can give you TONS OF EXAMPLE, but let's wait for your explanation grin

Obama gave money to the banks but they didn't stop foreclosing houses so how did that heal the economy. Of course the government has to spend and it is not like it is a genius idea. Bush the dullard did the same thing with Troubled Asset Relief Program during the recession.

this things are not achievements. they are normal obligations that a one year economist will know. doesn't make him high and mighty. In fact, if you guys are so progressive, shouldn't you be opposed to bailing out banks? but instead Pelosi and co were they ones who fronted the bail out package shamelessly.

My dear sister, I only asked a question... Do a comparison of both administrations, and take a closer look. When a president comes on-board, he has set priorities. For Bush, it was about WAR Mongering, for Obama, it was about education, healthcare and infrastructure. Your spending reflect your priority and that's FACT.

Obama borrowed as much as Bush did, but for documented purpose. I am sure Americans wouldn't be so much unhappy if the U.S. was bankrupt because they invested in healthcare, Infrastructures, education and what not. The sad truth is the difference in ideology.... FACT

Those who regard him as the worst usually point to the jobless rate, healthcare affordability, deficits etc.
The jobless rate is down to 6%, from a high of over 9% in January 2009. So I'd score Obama highly on that.
As for healthcare, the Republicans and some "Blue-dog" Democrats killed the 'Public-option'; hence Congress had to pass, and Obama had to sign a severely watered down bill into law. The ACA ('Obamacare') is merely a private health insurance reform law.

Haha, you are about to put me in the mood. Obama gave money to the banks not because he was trying to stop foreclosures (though that was a secondary motive), however, he bailed them out so that the entire banking system wouldn't collapse under the heavy debt done by dubious and shady transaction. That was the primary GOAL of the bail out, if the banks have collapsed, the U.S. credit system wouldn't have recovered because of TOXIC assets associated with the debt.

Haha...

BRB... Going in for a meeting.

Government priorities when it comes to spending isnt 100% the brainchild of the president but the lobby groups. that how things work in Washington.
You keep making this a bush Vs Obama thing. i am not a bush fan or anything.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict how the government will spend money. if you work in K street you will know what to expect even before the budget is passed it is only logical there would be more capital project to stimulate a falling economy. even the president of chad will know that. that is not an achievement but how government works. i am talking about real polices like social, foreign etc. things he would be remembered for . you are talking about train station and 2 x 2 roads.

This man has no political conviction whatsoever.
we know bush is pro war what is obama pro or anti of? he swings with the mainstream and always refuse of have a strong opinion on almost everything. he is a celebrity not a president

say what?

If he gives the bank money to protect them from failing, why did those foreclosure still went on has planned without extension. why didn't put that as a condition for getting a bail out? like giving defaulted loans 1-2 month extension

why did he pay the banks and allow them to take houses without calling them to order, after all bailout means acquisition to some extent so in other words, his government was responsible for foreclosing houses ?

@missy89 some people are going to lose homes to foreclosure simply because they borrowed more than they can afford. No government should cover for such financial recklessness.

But it is okay to bail out the bankers that sold them the bad mortgages in the first place with the tax money payed by those home owners?

Isnt that hypocritical or illogical?

well we have to be realistic and not idealists, whether republican, democrat, libertarian, tea party.... you do not mess with the Wall Street fat cats. They are major campaign donors. There is no major political party that does not support these huge financial institutions in any modern western democracy.... it's a sad fact.
That said, I believe Obama has instituted better regulation. I laud his appointment of Ms Yellen as fed chief.
