Graham Hunter, a Spanish football expert in England has revealed some interesting news about the Sami Khedira to Arsenal talks. Speaking with talkSPORT , he confirmed the reported agreement between Arsenal and Real Madrid of £27m over the transfer fee of the German midfielder and he says the deal is still subject to Sami Khedira’s high weekly wage demands. He also ascertained the fact that Real Madrid offered Khedira a contract extension recently and the 27-year-old defensive midfielder rejected the club’s extension offer as it doesn’t meet his wage demands, yet again! However, what he didn’t confirm is the reported slashing of his weekly wage demand, to revive the deal talks, as widely reported. <br/><br/>The German had reportedly tried to make a move to the Emirates possible by lowering his wage demands from the initial £150, 000 per week to £134,000 a week, a situation that stalled negotiation talks in the first place. This earlier report made it look like it was Arsenal that made no visible attempt to revive the deal that stalled on personal terms, specifically the initial weekly wage, as it was believed that the new Khedira wage reduction was intended to gain Arsenal’s attention. If Graham Hunter’s telling it the way it really is, then the report that Khedira has agreed terms with Chelsea that many believe could have emanated from the frustration of not being able to seal the Arsenal deal, may be wrong and just probably pure media and publicity stunt pulled by one or some of his agents. <br/><br/>This might have happened for the sole reason of getting either Arsenal to up his weekly wage offer or making Real Madrid increase their offer for him to agree a contract extension. However, in a counter move, Real Madrid was said to be considering an after- Khedira plan by putting a deal for Luis Gustavo of VfL Wolfsburg on standby, should Khedira reject another contract extension offer, which would limit his regular football chances at Real Madrid. This too may just be an empty scare intended to make the player reduce or reconsider the offer of a contract extension at the Santiago Bernabeu. Sami Khedira however is least perturbed by this Real Madrid move as Graham Hunter, reports that he is determined to see out his contract at Madrid, if no clubs are willing to meet his demands. <br/><br/>Seeing out his contract at Real Madrid may translate to reduced playing time, but it would be definitely increase his chance of getting a better contract next summer, when he’d be a free agent with only his weekly wage to consider by the new club.
