Release experimental drug, Zmapp to Africa! Let us all come together and urge the Obama administration to release the experimental drug, Zmapp to medical personnel in Africa who contracted the disease in their line of duty. Their survival is essential to treating and quelling the epidemic that is gradually spreading across Africa. If you believe in this petition, please add your voice by signing now! https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/release-experimental-drug-zmapp-africa/9bYrqL09 Share this message on Social Media, SMS, News Media and every other way. We must not fold our hands and allow thousands of people to die especially if they have a chance to live. No one knows who will be the next victim. The time to act is now and not by spreading baseless rumors that will not save the situation. 1 Like |

You lot need to stop disgracing Africans and black folks everywhere with your perpetual beggars way of life. Honestly, how do you expect them to release a military drug based on researches into weapons of mass destruction to you, without getting the people to compromise? Mapp Biopharmaceutical, the company that made Zmapp, works with the US Army - and there's no way they will release the drug for free. The military doesn't work that way. Scientists already said they have got the science for the cure to Ebola, based on the Marburg virus, but what they lack is funding. So why not ask for theblueprint for that, and get African biomed scientists to get busy for once in their lives? Or put pressure on the WHO to help get the required funding for the research. Handle ya business like Flavor Flav's clock and stop begging for hand-outs everywhere. 3 Likes |

chukwudi44: World Health Organization spokesman Gregory Hartl cautioned that health authorities "cannot start using untested drugs in the middle of an outbreak, for various reasons." Doctors Without Borders similarly weighed in on the side of caution. "It is important to keep in mind that a large-scale provision of treatments and vaccines that are in very early stages of development has a series of scientific and ethical implications," the organization said in a statement. "As doctors, trying an untested drug on patients is a very difficult choice since our first priority is to do no harm, and we would not be sure that the experimental treatment would do more harm than good." ZMapp has not been approved for human use and has not even gone through the clinical trial process, which is standard to prove the safety and efficacy of a medication. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/04/health/experimental-ebola-serum/ |
