I always say "farming is good but processing is better".
This is the way to go in this era of price instability of agro-commodities and also the influence of the middlemen in manipulating the farmers in terms of low price bargaining for their own gain.

This can be mitigated if you have a sale contract with a company but i doubt how many farmers in this country have such.
I see almost everyone writing articles about farming on the agric section which is very good but the future of agribusiness is not in production but in processing.(Adding value)

We also are involve in farming (production) and processing.
This is not to say that you can't start your agribusiness in production but always have the plan of going into processing.

Venturing into processing of commodities (catfish,meat,cassava,moringa, etc.) allows you to have control over the price of your produce.

For instance,if you are a catfish farmer that have a modern processing don't have to wait for a buyer that will not only use delay tactics to have a better bargain at a mysterious price but also increase your cost of feeding and delay in recouping your investment.

With processing, You know what time to harvest(if it has attain a good size) without any additional cost and then process it.
Doing this enables you to be able to assign a good price (that will cover your cost of production and leave a substancial profit) on your processed products.

It will improve your bargaining power instead.
You dont have to think of the perishability of the products.
With this you are sure of making more money and in no time,you are smiling to the banks.
This also apply to crop farmers such as cassava,oil palm,
Adding value will not only guarantee success,it will make hasten your way to success and wealth.

Although processing is expensive,and for the people with big financial muscle,the only way i believe you can start a processing factory is by like minded people coming together to form a processing co-operative and pulling resources together to achieve a common objective.

I receive hundreds of call from farmers,individuals everyday telling me they wanted to start small scale processing factory but they dont have up to the amount i specify in my previous processing analyses.

This is why we are putting all these together for prospective farmers,interested individuals and investors.
Ours is to provide the human resources for the set-up,management of the factory and provide the resources for the successful take off.

Preparation and taking off of the project is in top gear.

I'm also interested but I need to know the structure on ground and the mode of operations. However, there is need we get the clarity of the business before investing because no one can measure precisely the success and failure of any business from launch. So are investor going to be a shareholders (shareholder will definitely bear gain or loss of the any capital invested), if yes what parameter have you design to measure the value of the business and individual's share or temporary lenders who will later be pay off when business is booming. Just like someone suggested earlier... Set everything right and work towards starting officially by january next year.
