IJMBE(INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD EXAMINATION) an A’level 9 month programme is certified by NUC (Nigeria University Commission) CHECK PAGE 4 OF JAMB BROCHURE, ITEM 2.2(2) TO CONFIRM IJMB AS A REQUIREMENT FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION THROUGH DIRECT ENTRY’. The programme provides a unique platform better than JAMB because it aids in securing admission into 200 LEVEL upon completion. Interested IJMB Candidate are expected to select any THREE (3) A/L SUBJECTS related to their course of study in the university. Candidates would then be lectured on these subjects for a period of 9month and then write the final examination. On completion of the programme, Candidates can use their IJMB result to secure admission into 200 level into any Nigeria university via direct entry. The programme is been accepted by 70% of the universities in Nigeria. So don’t just sit at home doing nothing while the world passes you by. 6.During the programme you will be taught extensively, but only in three subjects. for example, if you wish to study medicine or biochemistry, then your subjests combination

is BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS.

7.The final result is calculated in points. the higher the

points, the better for you, that is:

8.Now, if a student going for medicine gets A in biology,

B in physics. C in chemistry then his aggregates becomes

12 POINTS with the addition of 1 point if there is no F making a total of 13 POINTS

UTME(Jamb) is the INTERIM JOINT
MATRICULATION BOARD EXAMINATION(IJMBE)
This program is an Advanced Level(A/Level)
course regulated and conducted by Ahmadu Bello
University Zaria. Applicants gain admission into 200
level in any of
Nigeria's private or public university that
accepts it as a criteria for admission. The program
is open for courses in Science/Engineering,Social
sciences, Arts and Humanities
The program (IJMBE) as articulated on page 4, item
2.2 of the JAMB brochure, runs for less than a year
during which candidates will receive lectures in
preparation for the final examination(coming up by
February 2015)
During the program you will be groomed
extensively on your subject combinations. The
subject combination is being determined by the
course you want to study in the University(as
applied to UTME). For instance, a student who
wants to study Law will offer Literature-In-English,
Government and Economics/ Business
administration.
The Requirements for the Program is a complete O/
Level Result (Max of 2 sittings) and 7 Passport
photographs.
Candidates with deficiency in Mathematics and
English Language can also apply as they will have
the opportunity of registering for any/both subjects.

I think IJMB is a better option when compared to JAMB. The only problem is that many students are not exposed to the merits of IJMB over JAMB.

Going for IJMB over JAMB is not really a bad idea. I personally believe that IJMB is better than JAMB

The only disadvantage of IJMB over IJMB is the high cost. However, if we should consider the fact that 100L expenses will be out once you gain admission directly into 200L with IJMB, we'll discover that it really worths the price.
