One of Nigeria financial institutions, United Bank Of Africa (UBA) is allegedly entangled in land dispute mess with families who claims to be rightful owners of a piece of land. The bank subsidiary, Afriland Properties, formerly UBA properties is at the helm of the controversy.
A branch of the bank sits on a controversial land that is located in U-turn, Bus stop in Abule Egba, Lagos. Information at our reach revealed that the financial institution is a tenant in the building, but its subsidiary, Afriland bought it over from a lawyer representing the family who claim to be the owner.
It was gathered that immediately the purchase got to the ears of the Arowolo’s family who are the rightful owners of the plots of land, a letter was served to Afriland and all occupants of the building including UBA to vacate
