Beach-goers in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao are making waves on the internet with their latest line in swimming gear – colourful, full-face masks.
The 'face-kini' is being hailed by Chinese newspapers as the country’s latest cultural gift to the world.
The fabric masks cover a swimmer's entire head and neck down to the collar bones. The product has grown from a pragmatic face-protector to a major fashion accessory, available in a multitude of colours and patterns.
The nylon sunscreen mask covers the entire head and neck down the collar bones, revealing only the eyes, mouth and nose.
