Op, without light would you observe that you had eyes? NO!
Without eyes would you know there was light?
However, concerning evolution, since life forms needed light for photosynthesis, it should be light.

During closed eyed hallucinations, or CEV, the visual cortex of the brain is even more active then it is during open eyed observations.

Well, visible light is just a tiny part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
In the other words, the universe, or existence for that matter, is mostly dark.

Particles produce luminiscence,or visible light wen their interactions reach a threshold. Therefore, light is actually very scarce in the universe.

As for the question, the obvious answer is that light precedes by far, any biologically evolved receptacle that utilizes it.

I have a lot to say on this topic. Thanks to all who've contributed so far. Hopefully, we'll thrash this out properly over the weekend.


Inasmuch as we all know no one has 'knowledge' of how this world began or exactly how life has evolved up to this point, this thread would be focusing on evolution AND the belief that this process didn't need any external influence/creator to kickstart it, so let's just have fun speculating.

Sounds like contrived non-starter to me - the bible says light was created before humans so on the subject of which came first, both evolution and the bible agree.

To put it differently, there's no point in God creating eyes if there was no light for it to process.

He created You in His own image doesn't mean You look like Him physically. He is a Spirit, He has no physical form.

Being in His image is having émotions and reasoning like Him
