Boko Haram Relocating From Sambisa Forest by olapluto(m): 10:27am On Aug 24, 2014 |
Since our president has given up on Boko Haram, the militants seem to be waxing stronger, and are quite strategic. Having captured several towns in Borno South, and encroaching into Adamawa, they seem to be ready and bold enough to move out of Sambisa forest and move into towns! Boko Haram towns! Anxiety as Boko Haram relocates from Sambisa Forest Posted by: Yusuf Alli, Managing Editor, Northern Operation in Featured, News 3 hours ago •Moves to capture Southern Borno BOKO Haram is on the move from its Sambisa fortress in Borno State. It is heading towards Southern Borno with several towns and villages already seized by its insurgents. Its members, and possibly captives, are dispersed in such places . Gwoza is the most prominent of the towns thus seized. A top security source described the situation last night as scary. The source said the ‘security situation’ in Gwoza and some other parts of the state was worsening. Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the insurgents, who were encouraged by their recent capture of Gwoza and surrounding villages, have been advancing fast to the southern part of the state. Towns like Askira/ Uba, Bayo, Biu, Chibok, Damboa, Shani, Kusar, Kwayu and Hawul are their immediate targets. “The insurgents have been rapidly taking over towns and villages in Southern Borno which were hitherto safe from terror attacks.”Unless urgent action is taken by the federal government, they might be in total control of the southern part,” the source said. “The situation is getting worse because the military, the police and other security agencies have no access to towns and villages overrun by the insurgents. “Only a comprehensive military campaign can save the entire Borno State from falling into the hands of the insurgents.” But a military source said: “There is no way the insurgents can take over Borno. We will reclaim anywhere they may be temporarily rampaging. “We will not unfold our plans but we will surely liberate these areas.” Sambisa Forest has been the focus of intense covert surveillance by the military, and the foreign experts sent by the United States of America (USA) and other western nations to assist in locating the over 200 school girls abducted in the April 14 attack by Boko Haram elements on the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. It is believed that the girls were taken to the forest which has also served as the training camp of the sect. Over four months after their abduction, the girls are yet to be located. The relocation of the insurgents from forest has raised anxiety about the fate of the girls. The federal government has repeatedly said that patience is crucial in rescuing the girls as using force will endanger their lives. The Mail of London reported on Wednesday that the Royal Air Force was sending three fighter jets to help in locating the girls. The RAF Tornado GR4s equipped with surveillance facilities, according to the newspaper, will undertake “reconnaissance missions” over the Sambisa Forest where the girls are believed to be held. Besides, the jets are expected to help the Nigerian authorities in tracking the movements of the insurgents. The mission is, however, dependent on one of Nigeria’s neighbours allowing Britain the use of its runway. Like I always say, our president does not know what is going on. He seems to be OK as long as he's safe. He always boasts of 'pushing Boko Haram to the fringes'. Now, it is clear Boko Haram only retreated. I sincerely feel that the whole of Borno state will go to Boko Haram once those militants overun Giwa barracks again. They tested the water in their previous attempt and exposed our military flaws. Now with deserters and extremely corrupt generals, and a non-chalant president, Boko haram will seem unstoppable. Sad Sad Sad for Nigeria to have such a weakling as president. Deploying Soldiers to harrass people of Osun who cause no trouble, but ballsless to deploy the right things against Boko haram 4 Likes |

Now that wouldn't bode well for the nearby residents i just hope the insurgents could be exterminated for good. |

Just maybe, this is a tactical ploy by the military to sure up their confidence and lure them into the built-up areas where they can then be vanquished. Wishful thinking I guess!!! |

Tazmode: Now that wouldn't bode well for the nearby residents i just hope the insurgents could be exterminated for good. You people are so funny, naive and stoopid! Imagine hanging on a probability when the numerator is approximately 0 or an absolute 0. This is what can never happen in a progressive society when people hope something but do nothing to make it possible, so who will do it? If your government and army do exactly what it has done for the past 5 years, your hope is dead in the water! How about a 0/100 probability?? Oh you want BH to just get tired, pack their bags, apologize and just to away? Or you want God to just come and secure Nigerians who he has given you $billions to manufacture and buy tools to protect yourselves? Nigerians truly deserve the rewards of their incompetence and their ever useless president now sipping champagne in Munich. 2 Likes |

matify: No dum.b thinking! Not just wishful! If you failed to destroy an insurgency that is isolated, where collateral damage is very low, where human shields are not predominant in the equation, where their escape routes are know, watchable and vulnerable, is it when they move to a town or city with even wider space, multiple escape options, complete human shields, etc that you will vanquish such a terrorist group? No wonder Nigerians are failing basic WAEC today, brilliance and intelligence is dead in most Nigerians, killed by hunger and stoopidity! 1 Like |

Sloan:i'd be lying if i said you've made sense so far, seems you're a fool without equal. With ur illogical ratings and allied crap, what really do u expect Nigerians to do? If u have an idea of what a constitution is, you'd know what d duty of a govt is. Too bad d 9ja govt is a failed one but dat doesnt mean d citizens r blameworthy 4 'speaking out' or better yet, investing our hope. |

Nigerian army cudn't take advantage of community ppl that supported them in d fight by forming d civilian jtf, pointing out members of bh in their midst and giving out info to d security forces. And we recorded success by seperating civilians frm d terrorists; who ofcourse relocated to d forest and made villages their target...but our weak military and clueless president cudnt take a micaceous advantage like the aforementioned...something that has never happened in the history of insurgency anywhre in d world before was cheaply thrown away by d security forces and our govt. God will compensate d lovers of Nigeria by removing Gej and his cohort in 2015! |

FG is not taking this BH case very serious atol any way I don't blame them it is because it has not affected any of them by the time BH start killing them or their relatives or loved ones they would take it very serious and give our soliders more sophisticated weapons to go and conquer BH . |

Sloan: You call those deserted communities and towns locations for collateral damage and human shield? I guess you have not been following the news and besides in modern warfare the built-up areas are more difficult to hold than forests and grasslands where the spate of ambushes are more and your targets less confined within a finite perimeter. We can draw examples from the Nigeria troops themselves who are finding things rough having to hold onto built-up areas and suffering needless casualties having to go in pursuit of their enemy in the forest. As for your derogatory remarks concerning my post, you just showed yourself a less rational interlocutor devoid of any semblance of deductive reasoning. |

Chubhie: Boko should just march down to Aso villa and take over and save the masses all this stress.then they will declare Nigeria an Islamic State with Shekau as the Caliph! They will use the machineries of the Poluce and the armed forces to enforce total Sharia! Churches will be demolished or converted to mosque! All schools wiil be shut and be remodelled for arabic/koranic studies! Al who resist would be slaughered like goats on National TVs! All traditional institutions will be dismantled and be replaced with emirates! All will be forced to convert to Arabian cultures or be killed! Freedom will be a thing of the past! While our sons will be taught at early age to kill for allah, our daughters would become "wives" at the ages of 9,10 and 11. It will be a crime for a woman to leave her house except if a man is with her! If you are accused of stealing, your hands or legs would be chopped off! And if you "blasphame" or denounce Islam, you will die by public stoning! Islam is so primitive that even the cave man will shudder! Bros, this your wish better be a huge joke or........ |
