One problem of the internet is that,it gives fools the priviledge of commenting on issues they know nothing about,in a convincing manner. Smh at so many comments here. |

Mariopgomery: Let me just help Missy89 out here. For Boko Haram to overrun a country as big as Nigeria, with a huge population of 170million - they will need at least 1million troops, sophisticated and broad logistics, advanced and sophisticated heavy weapons etc.. Even a country like America will need the same thing. Hence they chose guerrilla attacks within a certain axis that they can control effectively. And I believe they just started engaging the Nigerian military conventionally a few months ago due to the increment in the number of soldiers within their ranks. If they dare venture outside that axis, they'll be overstretched and destroyed. The only thing they can do is engage in terrorist attacks all over the country. 2 Likes |

These Tinubu attack dogs are so predictable. They swallowed the unconfirmed BBC reports hook line and sinker and had a massive celebration on that thread. However, when the Nigeria Army released an official statement on the incident, though also unconfirmed (just like that of the BBC), they reject it as a lie. The few Tinubu attack dogs that showed up on this thread are up in arms against the report while others, like Gbawe, are conspicuously missing. The question then is why are Tinubu attack dogs pro-Boko Haram, anti-Nigeria Army and anti-Nigeria? Why are they massively propagating Boko Haram propaganda with statements such "Boko Haram is better armed than the Nigeria Army"? Nigerians do not need to look any further than Tinubu attack dogs for the ENEMY of their country 5 Likes |

Mariopgomery: They took a huge chunk of territory and are defending it well. it is simple military logic. why over extend and spread too thin when you can achieve the same objective within your strong hold? They are not a conventional army or insurgents trying to overthrow the government so what is the point of over extending too much? supplies will always be a problem. Has nothing to do with any imaginary military defending you. If they are that good, they wont be dying in huge numbers, deserting, and maneuvering tactically into another country 3 Likes |

Missy89: Dumbest lie ever told. Once you hear "tactical" maneuver/withdrawal in military - that means defeat. And one thing you never do as a soldier is give your weapons to anyone, unless you're being arrested, or you surrender for your own safety. So the question is: why will a friendly country like Cameroon(even if there's no mutual pact/co-operation) dealing with the same menace disarm Nigerian soldiers and take them to a school for their own safety? Tactical maneuver indeed! 1 Like |

Nigerian Officials have just confirmed that the soldiers were officially asked to flee into Cameroon first as air strikes were due to take place where they were stationed. The soldiers are now moving back to the town of Mubi in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Why can't we bear collateral damages and end this scourge of boko haram once and for all. Mobilise a million soldiers to march on these savage barbarians-let us sustain a full scale war-even if tens of thousands die its better so we can escape all this embarrassment-but the politicians rather utilise our resources on themselvess and political cronies. Jona you need to act like a leader for once...where is our war machine? We need more armed forces, our soldiers are being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of these insurgents. |

Missy89: Yes. The fact that they were disarmed just tells you everything you need to know. That's just self-explanatory since this isn't the first time they crossed into the Cameroonian territory. These guys are just funny...and they know how to mislead these gullible folks. 1 Like |

I thought the NA slogan is "NO RETREAT NO SURRENDER", the story is not straight cos' I can smell some paid journalism here. I know our GALLANT NA can never retreat neither surrender just like that. I am sure they are busy searching for the boko boys for practicals. Their blood are stil vibrant and hot to make things work, they re our hero's and kudus to GEJ for giving the NA full support. May God give you more wisdom my presido and please remove the bad generals in the NA before they wikileak their strategy to the boko colleagues. #teamgej2015 |

whatlyf: Thanks for the clarification. As a patriotic citizen I ignored the defection "news" waiting for the Military's official statement. I believe in the capability of the Military in combating the insurgency, I hope for more wisdom to the President and Military High Command. To those that deliberately or unconsciously gv moral and psychological support to the insurgents through your comments and statements, I urge you to have a deep rethink on the effect of such actions on the morale of the military, our nation's security and our territoral integrity. well spoken brother! 1 Like |

Ishilove: hey! This seems to be the conventional thinking around here, well let me try and correct it, BOKOHARAM CAN NEVER BE BETTER ARMED THAN THE NIGERIAN ARMY, never!! The day that happens, know that Nigeria ceases to be a sovereign nation. The funds the president is looking for is to get even better surgical/tactical equipments to fight these terrorist. Forget those videos they show you on tv, forget Hollywood movies, if you see real armory, u go run. I used to think just like u, until one day, i saw ordinary fully kitted SARS policemen, live, these guys were armed to the fuuccking teeth, now compare that with NA special forces. |

Missy89 Have you seen the video below? You need to watch the part with two naij soldiers walking up the mountain, exhausted with a barrage of enemy fire coming at them from all angles. Bwoi, that's survival instinct right there - running for safety, regardless of what they're throwing at you. Always safety first and survival - those guys are warriors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl4IgD--nKg |

SirShymex:But let us not forget that ISIS is on the rampage swollen with looted cash (now estimated in the billions of dollars) from banks and ransom money for kidnappings. How soon before they start pumping up Boko murderers who are intent on proclaiming their own Islamic Caliphate? It is just a matter of time and connect the dots. If FG and NA doesn't sort things out soon, Boko will have a solid landing pad for others to step off of and further into Nigerian territory. This is a very worrisome situation and transparency and reliable reporting needs to be done so that Nigerians understand the severity of things. This is not a "Northern" thing, this terrorism is affecting the whole nation. God help Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Its as simple as ABC, in a country were data collation of citizens is not astute, a soldier who is willing can just go awol, go back to his village and start a new, life, the recently captured ogwuche did same, he went awol from the NA and nothing happened until when he planted bombs for boko, some soldiers have fled with their families i buses back to the south in civillian clothes and no one is looking for them, now, to say that 480 soldiers went as a group to cameroon and defected, submitted their weapons is just silly, they will be repatriated and tried, they can leave their posts and sneak away if they want to.. In this era where everyone dresses in camo, when you are in another countrys territory, the simplest way to show you come in peace is to drop your weapons, nobody will look at any documents, in fact you might be shot in any attempt to reach into your bag, you will stay in custody until diplomats come and explain your presence, as to how they got into cameroon, its still speculative, but saying the defected is stuuupiidd, you can even say they sucumbed to heavy gunfire, but defection is a heavy word to bandy about anyhow 1 Like |
