Robin Williams is in his final resting place.

The actor, who died of an apparent suicide on Aug. 11, was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the San Francisco Bay just one day after his death, per his official death certificate.

According to the document, which was obtained by Yahoo, cremation services were handled by Monte's Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo, California, after the "actor and comedian" died in his "own home" in nearby Belvedere-Tiburon. As far as cause of death, it is listed as "pending investigation."

The Good Will Hunting and Good Morning, Vietnam star died from asphyxia due to hanging on the morning of Aug. 11, the Marin County Sheriff's Department said during a press conference following Williams's death. His body was discovered by his personal assistant while his wife, Susan Schneider Williams, was out for the day. Sheriff's Lt. Keith Boyd said chemical substances were found in Williams's system at the time of his death, but full toxicology results will take anywhere from two to six weeks to be completed.

According to E! News, Williams's family members arrived in town last week for a "very private memorial" planned by the star's wife. It was thought to have included his three children — Zak, Zelda, and Cody— from his two previous marriages.

In the days leading up to Williams's death, he was making plans for the future, including attending the Hotbed Benefit fundraiser, supporting a local San Francisco Bay area education charity, on Aug. 23. The benefit, which is to be hosted by Kathy Griffin, will now include a tribute to the late comic.

There will also be a tribute to Williams at Monday's Emmy Awards. It will be led by the late star's pal Billy Crystal, and the executive producer of the awards show, Don Mischer, promised it will be a "proper and meaningful remembrance."
