At the VMAs on Sunday, Lorde took home the Moonman for Best Rock Video for her inescapable hit “Royals.” Though — let’s be honest — the actual VMA trophies are sort of irrelevant next to the spectacle of the performances, Lorde’s win is notable because she just became the first woman to ever take home a prize in the Rock Video category. A woman hadn’t even been nominated since 2010, when both Florence + the Machine and Paramore were up for awards. And in case you forgot, yes, Lorde is still only 17 years old. Congratulations, Lorde!
