Fellow Nairaland Members,

Yesterday we launched a topic sharing feature, which enabled Nairalanders to share interesting topics with their followers.

After observing the way the topic sharing feature was being used, we decided to replace it with the feature suggested in the quote below:

maclatunji: I think this idea should be expanded to posts. If I really like a post and want to share with others, I should be able to do so.

I'm pleased to inform you that you can now share interesting posts on Nairaland with your followers by simply clicking the (Share) button that appears under every post (except yours, of course).

You can also view posts that have been shared with you or which you have shared by clicking SP or Shared Posts(N) on the forum header.

Please post your suggestions, complaints, and observations on this thread.

My only suggestion is that they should be numbered. Like "1 shared", "40 shared". Etc just like the "likes".

That shared topic thing was really somehow, maybe if had been to some specific people it would have been okay

Please we also need a delete button to be able to delete our post than leaving a fullstop and making it look like we are booking space. Thanks

The difference is u get to see other people's posts(those u aint following) shared by the people u're following even when they dnt comment on that topic abi thread.

No offense but i do feel the idea of sharing post is kinda pointless if we can't choose the people we share our post to.Someone suggested a feature in which we can delete our own unwanted post.I think that one is better.Or something more cooler than this.Just my opinion tho.

seun is just giving us more burden to seeing spams !

Seun..you did a great job creating this forum...went through all your posts and topics...and i was overwhelmed to see how u started...answering questions and explaining things...i have'nt been to facebook,twitter or even goal.com..for the past 6 months...am always here...thanks for making our time on the internet worth it....And to the shared post feature....its really a nice development...at least i was here when seun invented the share post feature,..i hope it stays...and everyone enjoys it.

this sharing of a thing will make nairalanders stay online than before by trying to read the shared topics/post and commenting on them

They ain't. I am sure i am not the only one that have shared that post. Where are the numbers? And again a shared post cannot be unshared. When using some touchscreen phone you can mistakenly share a posts while attempting to click "like" or just scrolling. The spaces of those buttons below a post should be widen.

Immediately you like a post you would see "1 likes", "10 likes" etc right under the post you like. I don't know if they can do same for "Shares" that would be visible to even guests.

But, I also think you are right because this is a public forum, and 90% of everything done here should be made visable to the public.

I think that share button should be place on the far right of the screen.
