The silent night listens
To the lonely moon’s wails
The screeching whistles
Music to dancing trees; mocking the wind’s howls
Clap clap goes the dance
Walking stick of an old woman frail
Resigned to fate, seeking not another chance
Memories of dungeons and the ghoul

Tell me something I don’t know
Put me in a boat, don’t row!
I have seen it all, the sadness around
Let us float where still waters abound
Tales of gloom I have to tell
Reminiscent of days I was fine and well
In majestic splendour I once dwelled
In beauty I reveled
Oh how the world marveled
Vanity upon vanity
Life took it all, my best it rivaled
Dejected, frustrated, I lost sanity
They no longer came near
Parasites! They all fled in fear

Can’t go back in time
The days of my prime
The errors of my ways
Plague my current days
Little young one of mine
Stay the night, let us dine
So I may tell you of life!
