The saying that “a golden fish has no hiding place” has played out since Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah offered to serve his people as the governor of Abia come 2015. This has indeed been a puzzle to other aspirants who are yet to understand the manner of man he is as many of them acknowledge that he is their major obstacle. Uche ogah through his foundation has given scholarships to the less privileged not just for the sake of it but giving scholarship to people who are really in need . These facts are verifiable, go to Abia State University, Michael Okpara University, and University of Nigeria Nsukka and even higher institutions abroad, over 5,000 people have benefitted.
Uche Ogah donated an ultra modern auditorium to Abia state university towards creating a conducive environment for teaching, learning and research. What is striking about the whole thing is that he doesn’t make noise about it, which in itself is unprecedented.
In his Master Energy Oil and Gas Group of Companies, 6,000 workers are on his payroll and still counting. So, you can see how he is affecting homes.
He is the second largest employer of labour in Abia State and he has branches all over the country. In Rivers State, he has the largest oil depot in sub-Saharan Africa.
The masses are buying kerosene from Masters Energy filling stations at 50 naira per litre, this level of subsidy by a private individual is unheard of in Nigeria’s history.
Work is nearing completion in his one-stop integrated petrochemical company in Uturu, Abia State with capacity to create over 15,000 direct and indirect employments to the people.
You see, his life is all about giving back to humanity and making life better for the people. He is an indefatigable master, a quintessential man, full of wisdom and charisma, fast in thinking, simple and a believer in collective ideas. Abia State and indeed the entire nation, needs such a man of ideas and goodwill to lead at this time.
