It's actualy disgusting when people lick spoon or blow into things etc while cooking. But lets face facts: How many of the germs in the mouth can survive the over 100 degree centrigrade heat of the boiling food or soup for the several minutes it remains on fire.

Lets practice as decent a hygine as practicable in the kitchen but lets keep in mind the african saying that "if you must drink off a stream do not scrutinise the bank". Else no body will be able to eat anything prepeared by anyone else.
