Australian negotiator Stephen Davis who last
week named Ali Modu Sheriff as one of Boko
Haram sponsors dared ex Borno governor to
sue him.

Davis, who had spent 4 months in Nigerian
and exposed his life to extreme danger while
negotiating with sect commander over Chibok
girls release, recently claimed that Sheriff was
involved in funding terrorist activities in the
country . Outraged by the comments the former
governor described the scandalous allegations
as baseless and vowed to initiate legal
proceedings against the Australian . Sheriff also
expressed his readiness to appear before any
panel in to have his name cleared.
According to Africa Independent Television, now
Davis fires back again in today’s interview with
the Nigerian TheCable and insists on Sheriff’s
involvement:
“He is worried, is he? He knows that if he goes
to court, the evidence will be produced and he
cannot escape justice. Let him go to court if
that is what he wishes. It is his right to do so.
He will not be able to avoid close examination
and then the facts will be known.”

Davis seems undisturbed with ex-governor’s
threats to sue him and also makes a sarcastic
remark about the corruption in Nigeria’s justice
system:
“Good luck to him if he decides to sue me in
Australia. He can’t buy the judges here. Truth is
not for sale. Australia has zero toleration for
those who might sponsor terrorism. No one
should be above the law whether in Australia or
Nigeria. Justice must be served for every
Nigerian killed, every girl and boy kidnapped,
every girl raped, every person who has lost
their home in the course of this violence. It
seems to me the extent of involvement of every
person named by Boko Haram as a sponsor
should be closely and thoroughly examined by
the correct authorities.”
Davis refers to the information provided to him
by different Boko Haram commanders
“individually and separately” in different periods
of time and once again insists that he is “very
sure” of the facts about Sheriff’s sponsoring.

The Australian specialist estimates Sheriff’s
attempts to deny allegations as poor.
“I read his defence on the media this week.
Rather than come out as a statement of facts, it
read like a novel of unconvincing fiction. In the
last 48 hours, I have been in touch with some
commanders of the group and they maintain
their stand on Sheriff’s involvement. Sheriff’s
ploy of casting himself as a victim is a poor
attempt at disguising his sponsorship as
alleged by the Boko Haram commanders.”
It will be recalled that Stephen Davis has made
a series of striking revelations in the recent
month, both to international and Nigerian media,
about those who sponsor insurgency in the
North-East of the country. His position has
remained unchanged: Sheriff is among those
who should answer for being linked with Boko
Haram, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) helps
passing Boko Haram funds “through legal
channels”, many of the insurgency sponsors
are in the opposition.

The commanders of boko haram telling mr Davies the names of their sponsors? Hnmmmm! Dont you think they just want to indict their enemies while the main sponsors are still dinning with them? I strongly doubt the veracity of mr Davies source of evidences,they could be cooked just to rope in boko haram perceived enemies. Why name only 2 out of the many sponsors? The CBN and the opposition party members that are also involved as purpoted by Mr Davies, what happened to the names of the characters? Theres more to this than we can just capture now. Boko haram could actually be after some people considered to be their realtime enemies. Nigerians wake up.

Chai!!!! But this man get mouth sha! Australia negotiator disgracing sponsors since 10BC. This goes to show that the man have fully map out an escape route in case any of the alleged sponsors are innocent and he is sued. Like i elaborate in this post.

I like the audacity of this man. He is not a Nigerian that you can buy over by emotions or money or Nigeria where any goes unchecked and unchallenged. This man stand on his credibility and integrity insisting that, if anyone feel agrieved and unjustily maligned, he is free to seek justice. He is not a coward who will make an allegation base on his findings and go into hiding. Sherrif, Ihejirika can prove us wrong by seeking redress in court if they are not afraid. I believe this Australian knows more than he has revealed so far, and probably waiting for anyone who will challenge him in court before he let the entire cart out of the bag.

This man is such a gentleman....I just hope they will not push him too hard and revealed more information that may set this nation aghast.

If you listened to Ali sheriff himself he could not totally exonerate himself ........ My own thinking is Bokoharam is now bigger and complex than Ali Sheriff but the Origin of Bokoharam can not be takened away from this man !!

The man doesn't sound like someone who was afraid or confussed. He still maitain his stance and that is evident of the level of detailed information at his disposal. If any of the accused feels they were wrongly accused, i suggest they go to court and clear their names, after all, a clear conscience like i said earlier fears no accusation. But making cases for duo of Sheriff and Ihejirika on a tribal basis is fruitless. Any attempt by the principal actors to take it up judiciarily will spell doom for them. The Austee knows more than we can ever imagine.

if Sheriff is sure that he is innocent like he claims which I no is a lie he should please sue the Australian Negotiator so that he would expose all his secret to the whole world since FG don't know how to do their jobs again. many of the insurgency sponsors are in the opposition(APC).

See as Oyibo man just indirectly insult our judicial system, we are here disturbing ourselves about boko sponsors, Boko will not or never give up their sponsors cos it will not only stop d cash but it will produce direct links to them. I keep pondering and thinking how the most populous black country on the planet found ourselves in this quagmire. Can you imagine that an independent negotiator appointed b the government named some alleged financier of boko haram that has been tormenting Nigeria for years and the government is still thinking or confused on what to do? This is a big, big shame! Whether they are financier to the dreaded organisation or not, it is the duty of the court to prove this, but the clueless and inept government does not even know what to do. Now this is not about opposition or APC, this has to do with government knowing the right thing to do. I just hope Nigeria will do the right thing in 2015, vote out this marauders in government
