Should The Religious Organizations And Their Leaders Pay Tax? by Gunite: 11:59pm On Sep 10, 2014
There is supposed to be a
complete separation of religion and state, so
why are religious institutions tax exempt?
Many of these institutions have amassed
extreme wealth but do not pay any taxes.
Imagine if suddenly professional
organizations did not need to pay taxes,
there would certainly be a major backlash
from people of lesser wealth but what's the
difference? Religious institutions do not even
play by the same rules as non-profit
organizations so there is no reason for them
to remain tax-exempt
