Chevron NUPENG Members Protest Against Company Slavery by Lawalemi(m): 7:17pm On Sep 11, 2014
On Thursday, 11 September 2014, about three thousand contract employees of Chevron Nigeria Ltd under the aegis of NUPENG protested against the dissolution of their collective agreement by Chevron management. This led to ongoing strike in the company locations at Lagos, Escravos, Warri and Portharcourt.
However, the company management appeared not deterred as communication rolled out indicated that the matter has been referred to the Ministry of Labor.
The crisis graduated on Thursday when the management of the company denied entry to delegation from NUPENG national body.
The showdown continues.......
