How far does the image in the mirror appear to be from the man?6.25m, post of the properties of the images formed by a plane mirror is that the image is far behind the mirror ad the object is in the front of the mirror and the distance between the mirror and the parade is 6.25m |

Re: Jamb Lecture/past Questions For Science/art Students by mathefaro(m): 6:11pm On Sep 26, 2014 |
Benjaminbest: sori it is atmospheric pressureIn that case, barometer is the answer. Moreso, we cant just measure wind, you either measure its direction(wind vane), its speed(anenometer) or any other of its properties |

mathefaro: Question: In how many ways can the letters of the word ARRANGE be arranged if the As must always stay together?First and foremost, we need to understand that this is permutation(Statistics) which deals with arrangement in a particular order.(it's counterpart, combination, deals with selection or arrangement in no specific order). And now to the question, the word ARRANGE has 7 letters with 2 As and 2Rs, to arrange the letters without any condition, it would be => 7!/(2!*2!) Where 7 stands for the total number of letters, the denominator shows the number of letters that are repeated while ! Stand for factorial. NB: 5! = 5*4*3*2*1 But since there's a condition in the question that the 2 As must always stay together, then the word becomes (AA)RRNGE which has a total of 6 letters and only R appears twice (AA is taken as one letter), then the solution is ==> 6!/2! => (6*5*4*3*2!)/2! => 6*5*4*3 = 360 ways I'll welcome any question on this, and to confirm if you really understand this take this, in how many ways can the letters of the word SCHOOL be arranged if the Os must always stay together? Happy Sunday to y'all |
