Comparison Between English Language And Mathematics In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:55pm On Sep 17, 2014 |
Okay. I was surfing round facebook and came across a question on “certain education chat group”, it’s all about who’s better between someone who knows how to speak and write English Language fluently and Mathematics Guru. Well, some people are blessed with Mathematics skill while some are favoured in English Language. People like me, is lucky to be good(even if it’s average) in both subject. My answer was like this; I will go with English Language because wide Knowlegde of Mathematics won’t help you in a Labour market except passing your Mathematics exam and getting high scores. Basic Mathematics we apply in all ‘days’ life activities is what matters which both educated and un-educated fellas possess, and some so-called Mathematics Guru are poor in using their brain to be proactive. Computer Science requires a wide knowlegde of Mathematics but Bill Gate who can be describe as a dummy academically was able to think and made Microsoft. Now, back to English, being fluent and able to write English Language perfectly would make you a lot of money which gives it an advantage in a labour market over Mathematics. – You can be employed by a rich blog to write for them. – You can be employed by a company to be their writer. – You can be a great presenter. Etc Well, I have come to notice that being brilliant ain’t synonymus to being a good writer and speaker of english language though they sometime goes hand on hand. Though, some people still cover the mediocrity when they are being bursted for making grammatical errors. I am not perfect and I thank someone when I am being corrected respectfully, not disrespecting my personality in the name of I-TOO-KNOW. |

the difference is obvious , let there be math, & there was NAIRALAND , (ask seun & the programers ) 1+1=2 (two , English ) ...(biyu, Hausa) .....( e,ji , Igala) ....( byan , jukun.) .e.t.c add ur language .... i can learn & master mathematics in any language ( ask asian folks ) i wish, it must not be in English .. Wole sokinya or honorable Patrick's grammar cant get me to London in <3hrs ... but Isaac newton 's / wright brothers mathematical physics discoveries in dynamics could ( aid's flight ) ... Mathematicians aid in winning the world war , not grammarians . discrete mathematics gave birth & revolutionized the computer world , which you now use in passing the piece ( every character used , translates to machine language ) . i could go on & on .... BTW: money is never a function of wealth , but states of mentality & impart . -shalom- 3 Likes 5 Shares |

benbuks: the difference is obvious , Gbam!!! Couldn't have said it better! On spot General Books! The OP is completely clueless and ignorant, I don't even know what to tell him We would all be speaking German today if WW2 was lost to Adolf Hitler! @ OP Math is a universal Language and all universal laws are mathematical; If you know anything about Mathematics you would know that without Mathematics, humans couldn't have been able to decipher how the universe and everything in it works. Everything is Mathematics, even God is a Mathematician ! Only ignorant folks like you would disrespect the Language that gave birth to everything in the universe like that............LOL English is just a Language created by humans on "earth"...Just like any other human Language; so, why would anyone become a slave to the English man's Language because he/she think it's special? I speak and understand at least 7 Languages! I have Indian, Korean and Japanese friends who barely speak or understand English yet they are science/math geniuses and have contributed a lot to the advancement of our civilization! OP, you are nothing but an English man's slave Who no go no go know! Nigerians and their slave Language sha... LOL |
