This is child abuse. The child should probably sue them when he grows older, for defacing him as kid. |

Kai!! What is this? I love culture and tradition but there are some that I won't practice or tolerate no matter how widespread it is. Tribal marks is one of them. No matter how anyone tries to dignify it, its simply harmful mutilation and 'de-handsomisation' or 'de-beautification' of another human being (pardon the lingo) particularly the type being done to the poor child in the picture above. Makes me remember what I was told about my mum rejecting, fighting and crying against the attempt by the elders of my dad's house who were hellbent on giving me tribal marks as was the practice for first sons of my village. I'll forever be grateful to her for not yielding. My aunt used a Biro to draw the marks they intended giving me then, the thing no funny when I saw in the mirror what my face would have looked like. Chei!!! I keep thanking God everyday. 1 Like |

Some tribal marks are mild, while some could be so bad like the one up there This Is a clear case of child abuse I can only imagine the ridicule this boy/girl will suffer when he/she grows up |
