The ideal candidate will have a background in social media marketing or social/digital advertising, with a strong passion for social media and how it can work for brands. He or she is on top of the latest popular content, maintains personal accounts on social, and has an interest in brand awareness. He or she should be sharp, flexible, and curious to find the best way to engage an audience and tell the story of our brand. Our social media marketing manager will be given the opportunity to own the social communities and content development of a rapidly growing, mission driven brand. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, creativity, and the ability to make an impact without layers upon layers of red tape. Roles and Responsibilities: Post and monitor content on social channels each day Partner with Digital Marketing Lead and digital Designer to develop strategy for editorial content calendars Track success of content and digital campaigns through social media metrics Own influencer and blogger outreach programs Develop ideas for and produce creative content across platforms Oversee Digital Designer as she brings ideas to life visually for social/digital Respond to and engage with consumers in the voice of the company Monitor online conversations and participate in those conversations to build brand visibility and thought leadership Participate in briefings and campaign development with partner agencies Lead social arms of campaigns from ideation to execution Vet new social/digital vendor opportunities and partnerships, manage as needed Write blog posts and other content weekly for our website Monitor competitive and comparative social media activity to present to the marketing team Look for new opportunities in social media to further build our brand awareness and affinity Work with digital marketing lead on SEO, website development, etc. Grow followership and likes on Twitter and Facebook respectively Desired Skills and Experience Experience: 3+ years experience working at a social media agency, handling social media in-house for a brand, or working at a digital agency or advertising agency. CPG experience a plus. College degree or required; Marketing, Business, or Communications majors preferred Skills/Knowledge: Passion for social media, including personal use of at least Facebook and Twitter Strong time-management, project management and organization skills Ability to think critically through social programs and campaigns and make recommendations A self-starter, driven to continually push new ideas forward Ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines Strong writing skills are required as you'll be both engaging with our community and writing our social media posts and blog posts. A self-starter, able to work independently Deep understanding of social media monitoring and analytics tools such as Radian 6, Tracx, Sysomos, Sprout Social, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, etc Experience in community management and/or social content development for brand An interest in pets and/or animals a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word and Excel An enthusiastic and outgoing personality Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, other applicable graphic design programs a plus and required. |
