I am just asking if abstaining from sex should be
part of prayer and fasting. Will God refuse to
answer ones prayers and supplications if you have
sex during fasting?

When fasting you give up something and whe you fast you should be praying and reading the word of God. Fasting is a Holy thing and you should be concentrating on God. Sex can wait besides it is bad if you cannot control the urge. To lift up the spirit you must let go of fleshy desires. 1Cor 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Some people contradict both, but while fasting entails abstaining from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance; abstinence has to do with keeping away from one or more things we love to do esp as a religious observance. As regards the topic, am not so sure of any biblical backing but I feel one should keep away from sex during fast. Am even wondering how your third leg can function during fasting...sounds weird though

I beg to disagree. When we fast, we abstain from certain things that are considered priorities; things we tend to glorify more than our spirit man and God. There is no difference between fasting and abstinence save for the fact that one is religious and the other is not. Abstinence can be as a result of our decision or will while fasts leave us no choice but to stay away, with the help of an active consciousness being made alive in the spirit man. I really hope you get this though.

who told you abstinence is not religious...you very wrong go ask you priest, pastor or spiritual director for guidance.

Fasting is a spiritual exercise whereby you subdue your flesh so that you spirit will gain ascendancy to God. With this, it is advisable to desist from all fleshy desires including sex. For married couple, you should take permission from your spouse during this exercise so that you do not give room for the devil
