By Agency Reporter Published: Wednesday, 5 Nov 2008 The Kebbi police command has arrested two men for allegedly raping three teenage girls at Gehiru village in Jega local government area of the state. According to the News Agency of Nigeria Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Muhtari Shehu, told journalists today in Birnin Kebbi that the suspects (names witheld) had confessed to raping the three girls. The police boss said that the men, both married, used the head-ties of the girls to bind them before raping them repeatedly in a bush. He said both culprits and the girls were detained at the state CID while medical examinations were conducted on the girls before prosecuting the culprits. According to the police commissioner, the suspects have pleaded for leniency, claiming it was the ‘work of the Devil‘. |
