interestingly(comforting?), the Chinese who are relatively calmer albeit making strong global statement are nowhere in this album, and even so regrettable that black people are so discombobulated to find any ideological weapon to represent their progressive consciousness as well. maybe add some spliff and rasta locks to soothe the pain

^ what? religious and political each has a single book and their main object of force to their right hands, where the scientific, albeit fictional has more than twice their books combined without even a lethal weapon. yet there's a national flag and a regional language(written arabic) showing that race is involved...and i found it a bit funny that the entire human race is not just white. i liked a larger representation involving far east asia and the the dark skin..even if as humorous as...

I'm not sure. state what u think about the pic. i have not even typed half the thousand words in the pic. I'm a conscious black person, if i have seen racism it may have been masked in too much politeness that the institutionalised reality of it had left me more obfuscated than certain.

racism or not, nothing stops me from commenting my opinion about this pic and thinking beyond the bounds of it, whether in seriousness or for jokes

Your first reply to the op totally missed the point about the topic and the pics. You behaved like the proverbial fool who looks at the finger pointing out the moon instead of looking at the moon.

Although the pitiable state of the blackman, ideology wise, is a valid topic for discussion, those pics have nothing to do with it. You can put any race you want behind those weapons, the message remains the same.

Anyway, as a representative of the black race, let me present you with our own weapon. Music: universal, useful, peaceful, spiritual, ageless, omnipresent, encompassing, good, devastating, sorrowful, human.

i know you just wanted the chance to insult yourself, I'm sure the people in the pic don't have their music. take your weapon out of this class, they don't tally. it's my choice to say what i think according to the op's question. not for you to say that your father is a proverbial fool for making his choices. this pic clearly says the most forceful (all encompassing) human evolutionary drivers. your melancholy music has not put you ahead of any form of colonialism nor in the frontiers of economic emancipation. u should be sorry that when the utmost global power concerns are graphically represented, someone with your face is nowhere.

Still missing the point.

Look at the bigger picture if you can. Don't be one of these "educated fools" wandering around Africa. Use your head.

This is a public forum and anybody can say anything, but when you want to sound intelligent, it is advisable to at least be coherent.

Op is talking about religion. You are talking about race.

now i see how foolish you are. i mean u couldn't even make a total abstraction if your life depended on it. how could you say the pic is only talking about religion? as much as it tries to point at religion as a subset of this, the primary humour is directed at the science people. the American girl could more certainly be grasping the national political constitution more than it's a christian bible. and the soldier is grabbing the Koran only because u can see the arabic inscriptions in the background and the mujaheddin balaclava on her, otherwise it could still be another national constitution. but even with the destructive weapons they have, the scientific fiction guy(imaginary, unbelievable and sometimes unproven ideology) has even more confidence without any lethal weapon on him. he makes fun of them both(political and religious).

pic talks Religion, Politics and Artificial Intelligence(science) and for the fiction guy to have taken the complete half of the pic means that the two other ones unite peacefully in his cause after all is said.

and where race comes into all of this is that they are after forces that shape the entire world without even duly representing ALL the important sections of it.(my expectation, my choice)

Why are you resorting to insults?
Where did you see artificial intelligence in that pic?

Those pics have a simple message: theists defend their beliefs with guns, violence and threat of violence while scientists use proof.
There is no politics, or race or whatever else the voice in your head is telling you.
Re: A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words. by Nobody: 10:21pm On Sep 30, 2014
we would know who first barged in here with insults. nothing narrows this down to "theists" because, i see nobody wearing a priestly tunicle/clerical collar. Christians don't dress like the American woman to church, if you're assuming she's one. there's only one theist pointing at the muslim followership under arms as well as the american secularist. the science guy has "fiction" on his shirt, a telescope and books with clear titles unlike the other two. emphasis is on the thousand words here. if there's anything, he's on a scientific discovery mission to mess with every other religion that's not shown here, but only as logos on his shirt
Re: A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words. by peterphd(m): 10:24pm On Sep 30, 2014
hey logicboy, share the single picture of the guy with the telescope.
Re: A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words. by Nobody: 10:45pm On Sep 30, 2014
umm..oluwalfa, i think i must admit that your comments have made me take even a closer and different look at this whole pic again. i had actually commented along, oblivious of any symbols forming the "fiction" on his shirt. maybe cos i was from the mobile....but i choose not to change my views entirely now, even though i could have come out a lot differently. thanks, i should appreciate.
