How is that sad news for all of us? Do I care if he even has a child or if all his family members die off?

Little simiat was taken abroad for treatment, too bad. Fail health system in Nigeria.

This is very sad news. The couple should ensure they don't give birth to any sickle cell baby anymore.

I wish it was compulsory to do genotype screening for intending couples and stop those who are not compatible.
The trauma most especially for the children is not worth it.

besides it seems u got F9 in ur biology. mean no offence pls.

GOD grant the brother the fortitude to bear the loss. such is life, we all must die at a certain time, however we must care for self to live as long as possible. 700 years is not too much to ask for.

Times of death is never a happy moment especially for those directly involved. RIP to the dead. Fortitude for her family members.




However, two things are worth mentioning:
1) When will our leaders get things right in this country? Many many many many families don't have the priviledge to send their loved ones abroad for medical care. Ain't they worth good health care services too? Our country can do better, really!

2) I think it is the responsibility of intending couples to check their compatibility in terms of genotype before marriage. Well, to each his own. But, its certainly not fair what SS warriors go through. I mean, I have lost close relatives to this disease and I know what they go through during crises.
