Stop the hatred, you've never got someone in grave need of MBBS grads right? If you don't believe, all you need do is to visit "wards" at hospitals.... You need to see how people keep hoping on how doctors could save their lives... When you get their, you'll find out that the reach also cries....

So stop showing/expressing your dislike/hatred for doctors.
A clear case of 'Dyslogia' and 'Dyslexia'!

I simply misunderstood the OP's quote as courses most vied for, and said the yearly number of MBBS applicants equates the population of Lesotho. Where's hatred in that quote?

Besides, why would I hate what I am?

And sometimes, I wonder how much the community pharmacy was making per week to pay my spouse. 50k for 4days in a month.
Sorry for intruding sir? What certificates has she? After her Bsc, what other degrees has she in what specialties?
I'm thinking of a postgraduate course to go for after my undergraduate degree from Pharm school.

what i believe is that many student wrote jamb then join into one universities what they want is to just have that brown cardboard that they too pass though universities they dont consider that after school where will i be or instead should follow that heart and they should not jump into any universities that also offer any uncomfortable courses because the universities will not secure you a job but only the brown cardboard call certificate.because i can tesify many schools offer me many courses but i refuse then i stay focus on dream to work in a media house studying mass communication but these process takes time then i endure

Pol science is the worst course to study in Nigeria. You don't have to study political science to occupy any political position in Nigeria. Infact, that course should be scrapped from our universities.
Re: Overrated Courses In Nigerian Universities by Nobody: 9:16pm On Oct 05, 2014
Most overrated course in Nigeria is MBBS. Funny enough doctors are not wealthy, they barely could sustain an average living in the society. Who can boost of knowing a handful of wealthy doctors, and I will show the person a dozen multimillionaire engineers and professionals in the built environment. Am a quantity surveyor and very few doctors in their medical practice have seen the money I have legitimately made in my few years of practice.

Infact, will soon build a hospital and engage some docs and pharmacists to manage it for me. Doctors, thanks for saving lives though. It's ur calling, keep it up

Here are the few overrated courses in nigeria.

(1). Accounting
this course is overrated,i wonder why someone would spend years studying this course when my sister had B.sc in Biochemistry, went for a 7months training and she is now working in a bank.

(2). Microbiology
Don't need to say much about this, the course is quite tough though, but after spending 4 years studying it,most of them end up teaching.
mark my words not all microbiologist but most.

(3). Political science
I Don't need to say much about this course, because it's already speaking for itself.

(4).Business administration.
Only God knows how the peeps that studied this course gets employed.

(5).Pharmacy
yea,i know you might be surprised seeing this but it's true.
Most pharmacist end up opening a shop to sell drugs, but the few that are employed are paid in 6 zeros.

You are free to add yours

OP, If you're educated, kindly return your certificate TO wherever you bought it from, since you can't decipher the difference between a banker and an accountant.

Your ignorance is indeed mind-boggling, and I wonder how someone would logically conclude on these courses as overrated.

If studied properly and in a sane environment, microbiologists and pharmacists have a VERY vital role to play in scientific/medical advancement.

Again, SMDH!!. MEhn this country is in trouble if we keep having people that reason this way.

Only a failed nation like Nigeria would not recognise the importance of doctors.

I give up!

masonkz, Nigeria is not in trouble, you're the one in real trouble. I made my points very clear and in elementary English Language. I didn't say MBBS is not important. Didn't I make a case for the welfare of the overrated holders MMBS certificates? if doctors spend a whole lot of time studying in the university and work tirelessly saving our lives but do not measure well in the society, then does it not call for something to be done to enhance their welfare? i did not in whatever way disparage the importance of the medical professionals. I have been to the hospital a couple of times with my lovely kids and wife and these guys have always been there for me. I am too informed to write ignorantly. I would advise you read very well in between lines people's opinions before jumping to the guns and displaying your poor understanding of simple written English.

Even though you wrote like an aggrieved medical doctor, which i very much doubt, I wont join words with you.

Like seriously, why do some Nigerians reason this way, ehn?
So,everyone who studies political science should end up occupying a political position?? This mentality is sickening. I can't deal...

Really? You're not this dumb, are you? Your idea of being 'wealthy' and perhaps successful is the 'money you've legitimately made in the few years of your practice' which doctors supposedly haven't? Well, your username already suggests what i was thinking 'GOATleg'.

OP, it appears u know nothing about the educational system in Naija or other countries. Even ur opinion on Accounting alone left me with doubt that if u are a graduate at all. Cos for u to have come to conclusion that because ur sister. Works as may be a mere teller in d banker turns her to accountant makes me conclude that u must be a school cert holder or a frustrated unemployed graduate

I knew that neither courses would require bio in SSCE so didn't give that shit called biology a damn time right from ss 1. Glad I was counseled early in life and I didn't waste ma precious time reading that boring book called modern abi na ancient biology. All through my Uni as well, I didn't even do any course that was close to bio/med.
