I wanted to deactivate my profile but couldn't do so through the 'deactivate' icon on 'edit profile'. Any other way I can do this or I have to beg the mods?

You don't understand. I just want to deactivate the account for reasons best known to me.
I will still be logging to NL steady but I want this account deactivated

this issue has been a bone of contention for a long time.we first raised this issue some years back but it seems once u are in you can't get out. www.nairaland.com/993846/ok-seun-how-close-nairaland#11483353

Seun need to work on this. If court in Europe can sanctions Google to remove certain info from online which google strictly adhere to, then NL should be able to allow free in and free out options.

even kidnapped people do regain their freedom after the ransom has been paid . Nairaland demands no ransom .the deactivate button was created and active for sometime ,but I think the rate at which people quickly deactivated their account prompted NL to discontinue the button
