Nigeria loses billions of naira on every public holiday on week days such as these unnecessary public holidays on Monday and Tuesday when the Muslims have already celebrated their Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) on Saturday October 4 and Sunday October 5, 2014, even though it falls on today October 6.

In the lunar-based Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for three days.

Left to me, only Muslims should be given the freedom to have work free days for their religious festivals.
Non Muslims must report and work.
Then on Christian holidays, only Christians should be given the holidays for their religious festivals.
Non Christians must report and work.

All these national public holidays on work days of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are in most cases unnecessary, because lest we deceive ourselves, they have not made both the Christians and Muslims holier or more God fearing. In fact, that is when they commit the worse sins.
