I like the good customer service I get from apple, but my mac sometimes acts retarded. I remember downloading Limewire on the thing only to have it start crawling. (Although I've heard this happens to other brands as well). And I think more institutions (i.e universities) tend to cater to windows compatible ones than mac. It doesn't mean I hate mac, but I was just trying to see if there's anything better.  Thanks again everyone.

well dondele i dont know what software failure gat 2 fm wit hardware u're just arguing IBM thinkpad is just d best and plus their one button rapid rescue in case of data loss, superb battery life of about 5.5 hours in some model just 2 mention but a few.
