A South Carolina man captured the moment a crab took on an alligator, and won.

Phil Lanoue was snapping shots in Huntington Beach State Park in Georgetown County when he spotted the alligator sneaking behind the shellfish, going in for the kill.

But the crab’s sense of survival kicks in and before the alligator can say, “lunch”, the crab swiftly spins around, clasps his pincers against the gator’s snout, and scuffles away with a defiant win.

As soon as the plucky crustacean spotted the greedy gator it turned around and bared its pincers before reaching out and giving the giant predator a firm pinch on the nose.
