authority2006: Very irritating in fact. His kind are the worst a nation can be cursed with and the reason we will never make progress. I cannot deny that virtually all Nigerian politicians are corrupt. What I hate is what GEJ has perfected which is free-for-all and copious looting of the commonwealth of Nigeria with the people receiving Nada in return. This is why GEJ has very few international 'ally' leaders and has instead gathered a large number of critics amongst his fellow heads of State. The unconscionable and brazen looting of GEJ, coupled with his misrule and indolence, is irritating the entire world beyond Nigeria because most world leaders appreciate that the consequences of impoverishing and misruling Nigerians will spread beyond Nigeria. Who would not be irritated with a President of one of the most poverty-afflicted nation on earth who inherited seven airplanes (already far too much considering other world leaders had one or none) and chose to buy 3 more to make a fleet of 10? Abeg, forget people. GEJ, by far, typifies the worst way to run any Country let alone the biggest black nation on Earth. Nonetheless GEJ will never run out of apologists and sycophants while Nigeria remains horribly divided along ethnic, religious and sectional lines. In almost 98.9% of the nations of the world I am sure the people would have unanimously said "enough is enough" long ago. 1 Like |

terrimatix: Indeed. What makes GEJ very dangerous for Nigeria and sets him apart from others before him who are also corrupt (OBJ and Yar Adua) is that GEJ allows every one and every corner/sector of nigeria , however critical to be corrupt without any checks-and-balances whatsoever. Not even the Nigerian Army is sparred this deleterious and cancerous corruption. That is why I repeatedly use the term free-for-all looting to classify what exists under Ali Baba (GEJ) and his 40 thieves (Allison-Madueke, Adoke Bello, Okupe, Abati, Orubebe et al). Many political analysts will tell you this is the most dangerous form of corruption as it is the sort that will lead a nation to fail. A small class can loot and still ensure essential functions of statehood are maintained and functional. When everyone is looting everywhere without repercussion, as is the case under GEJ and to even include the shameless theft of the pension accruing to the elderly, then it is only a question of time before the nation grinds to a total halt. Imagine looting the billions of dollars disbursed to equip the Nigerian Army and strengthen our Soldiers against terror? No one has accounted for that yet. Till today nothing has happened to many who plundered and endangered Nigeria through the fuel subsidy scam. In fact one of the main suspects who is still supposedly 'on trial' (Ifeanyi Ubah) is shamelessly a driving force behind the whole TAN scam seeking to return GEJ to power in 2015 !!!! Virtually all Nigerian leaders are corrupt but GEJ, since 1999, is the President who has directly taken it upon himself to let every man and woman everywhere steal to their hearts content. Indeed this has become the operational policy of the GEJ government. I.e "steal and loot or you are out". This is why looters and AGIPS we all know have always existed are today struggling to outdo and outshine each other. It is under GEJ Private jets became the choice transport for the Nigerian looting class with Mr.President even going on the world stage to inanely state that Private jets in the hands of a few crooks is an indicator "Nigeria is not poor" Nigeria needs deliverance from a gang whose motto is "alooter Continua". 5 Likes 1 Share |

Source http://pointblanknews.com/ Vice President Jonathan Bows To Pressure, Declares N.2Billion In Assets VP Goodluck Jonathan The Vice president Goodluck Jonathan yesterday capitulated to public pressure over the public declaration of his assets as done by his boss, President Umaru Yaradua as he made public his assets declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau. The assets which were made public by the senior Special Assistant to the Vice president on Media and Public Affairs, Ima Niboro indicates that the value of the Vice president total assets and cash in banks stands at N295,304,420. This is about N561, 148,472 less than the assets declare by President Umaru Yar’Adua who declared his total assets to be at the value of N856,452,892. Mr. Iniboro said the vice president’s decision to make public his assets declaration was to show that ‘there is nothing to hide’. He added that the vice president is ‘a firm believer in the rule of law and this has guided his conduct in office through the years. “It is this belief that also guided his position that having declared his assets for a total of seven times, there was no point in going further to publish the declaration” he noted The vice president’s aide regretted that the position of the vice president not to make public his assets declaration had ‘generated an unfortunate storm, which is not only distractive but also quite unnecessary. We are worried that some newspapers and citizens we hold in high esteem have joined the fray. “This merely shows that in the affairs of man, there comes a time when even the law must take a second place and the public mood must define our actions. GEJ is the least corrupt leader after Yar'adua, let the accusers declare his assets or money which made that much. Just 0.2Billion naira for someone who has been in government all this while is nothing to talk about. Only his savings should be enough to give him such assets even without investments. What are talking about, it was widely alleged that OBJ while in office before everybody high-jacked Transcorps, Built Bell University, and Biggest lib in Africa, Presidential jet was caught with Andy Uba carrying money which it was claimed meant for farm implements, has the biggest farm in Africa today. These tribalists and sentimentalists in this forum have turned their eyes away and never talked about all these, maybe because he (OBJ) is either their tribal man or have same political interests like them and are here insulting GEJ. Forget sentiments and tribalism, as far as the truth holds OBJ is the most corrupt civilian president Nigeria will ever have. While as military president, it was said that he introduced corruption in military leadership too by stealing with a coffin which Idi Amin intercepted and seized till today. His brothers and apologists are talking rubbish, they only see and criticize others but cannot do same for theirs. |

The United States of America and their minions have ceaselessly been trying to undermine Nigerian President, not to punish him in particular, but to unlieash agents of nihilists upon the country and so elicit total disintergaration and subsequent anarchy. They employed Boko Haram and were dazed at the nonchalance-cum-pragmatic style the Govt of GEJ is tackling it and how the southern Nigeria was United in annihilating their surge, they resorted to unleashing a Liberian-American Bio-weapon-terrorist(Patric Sawyer) to strike the southern Nigeria with Ebola and so pressure Nigerian Economy to plummet and subsequently descend into chaos, and Nigerian Govt fought it to standstill. They instigated South Africa to expose a suppose secret deal - that other countries do normally - of weapon purchase Nigeria was making to crush internal Insecurity. They pledged to aid the aerial surveillance of Boko movement and facilitate the release of the purported(false) kidnapped Chibok girls, but relented after their information to Boko on how to undermine Nigerian Army failed(they were actually using that surveillance to guide Boko Haram as the insurgence gained better ground instead of the opposite during that same period). They used APC and realised the futility of their effort as GEJ proved to be far more omniscient in identifying and squashing all his problems no matter how multifaceted it poses to be. Now they want to cause public resentment of GEJ by personally attacking him, and defeat will be their lot. The one time 'Clueless' GEJ has now shown its enemies that they were not at all versed in employing mental political power play. GEJ is 'efficient', he is 'pragmatic', he is 'proactive' and he is 'ruthless'! US has sought our aid in fighting ebola, they shall seek our aid in fighting terrorism as they have failed woefully in tackling their once controlled terrorists like their Northern counterparts. One Nigeria! |

samibode: you do know new refinery's are being built by private companies like dangote and aiteo right? plus SURE-P funds have also been used to construct roads like the east west road and the eastern rail line that runs from portharcourt to maiduguri. Also money has been sent out to our tertiary institutions earlier this year to upgrade their facilities. Plus Jonathan has no power to nullify the decision of the judiciary in Nigeria. That is against our constitution and it is undemocratic. The judges who presided over those 2 cases are the people that should be scrutinized by the nigerian media. The only thing Jonathan could have done in that situation is make a statement. WELCOME TO DEMOCRACY. Again how did he make Nigeria worse than it always has been? Corruption has always plagued Nigeria... The only reason you guys are even talking about corruption now is because of the freedom of information bill Jonathan signed into law in 2010. The same bill that obasanjor repeatedly rejected and the same bill that no single state government including Fashola have signed for their states. Again the only reason there is great focus on corruption today is due to that bill jonathan signed. I wonder how much went missing during Obasanjor's regime? I am also wondering how much has been stolen by the state governments presently? Ofcourse if we had a freedom of information bill to preside over these administrations we would have a better idea on how much goes missing. The fact that Jonathan signed the bill proves the man does care about curtailing corruption in the country and makes him different from other leaders who just play lip service. |
