Whether our government is lying or has had its legitimate arms deals blocked unfairly by South Africa is beside the point as far as these threats go. It is extremely foolish for our government to issue this threat and I regret being ruled by these kinds of people who can't even think properly. The issue of MTN and other PRIVATE South African businesses is purely unrelated to this and by threatening them this government is behaving like children - it's the sort of thing that makes Putin a fellow you can't really take seriously. It will hurt our long term economic interests because investors will be wary of investing in Nigeria. If you read reports detailing responses to our current drive to get an auto industry to seriously take off, you will notice that the auto giants consistently cite fear of government policy as a major issue. We are fueling that sort of mindset by this latest tomfoolery.

Shame!
