Use Of Siren In Imo State And Reapeted Mention Of Abia Governor On State Radio by babeface3: 8:35am On Oct 10, 2014
I have been in the Eastern pert of Nigeria for a while now on a new assignment, particularly Owerri capital city of Imo State.

I noticed two bizarre occurrences in the twin states of Imo and Abia.

The first one is that there are no rules in Imo regulating the use of siren that create a hell of public nuisance, to the extent that every Tom Dick and Harry in the name of security personnel or escort to a politician running a simple errand blows the siren. Every 10 minutes comes the sound of an annoying siren from the road. That's quite Amazing.

For Abia State, you will not hear 2 words from the Radio without the name of the Governor. When the award was announced by the FG, the cost of congratulatory massages from boot leakers on radio alone if quantified in monetary terms could rehabilitate an important road in Aba. And as if the radio broadcasters were told to blow the trumpet in that fashion.

I am shocked at these things. We are still very far in this country.

The Abia own is most annoying, they can't make a sentence without mentioning the man's name. And the givernor's posters is every where even on waste bin baskets.
