For years, the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, transversed the length and breadth of the country and even beyond with his engagement in activism built on labour ideals. He assumed office as the governor of Edo State after a prolonged legal battle in November 2008.

He is spending almost his sixth year in office. All this while his name has been a trademark. However, recently he added a new name to his already known name. At engagements now he is been addressed as Comrade Aliu Eric Oshiomhole.

The question many are asking is when did the acclaimed people’s governor do a change of name and in which newspaper or on which TV channel did he place the change of name advert?

Nothing has changed in terms of the religious affiliation of his names. Aliu and Eric which are there are Islamic and Christianity respectively. Adams, the former name, is a bit confusing. All those I know that bear it a from Edo north, and most of them are moslems from Auchi.
