CAN Wants To Throw The Country Into Episodic War - Prof. Oloyede by luv2talk(m): 3:30pm On Oct 17, 2014
PROFESSOR Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has alleged that there is a subtle connivance by certain forces in the Presidency and some top members of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) to plunge the country into episodic war.

According to him, the connivance, was being feigned under the banner of “counter-terrorism” battle.

Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, Professor Ish'aq Oloyede, Executive Secretary, Supreme Council For Islamic affairs

The erstwhile Vice-Chancellor, who clocked 60 recently, spoke in an exclusive interview with press men, where he accused the duo of Presidency and CAN top leadership of plot to denigrate Islam with the ongoing war against terror.

Oloyede, who is now the General Secretary of the apex Muslim body, National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), said previous attempts to demonize Islam by the forces, which he did not name, failed woefully, because according to Professor of Islamic Jurisprudence, Islam was antithetical to any act that could aggravate the pains citizens are going through, particularly insurgency in some parts of the north.

He further stated that, it was shocking that a private jet belonging to the President of CAN was used to ferry a huge sum to procure ammunition under the guise of anti-terrorism while the government swiftly exonerated the Christian leader from any complicity in the deal.

Oloyede alleged that despite clear evidences of connivance, the Federal Government was taking side in its bid to sweep the matter under the carpet

The former Unilorin boss said the wise class would continue to know that the country has a contraption of a war that is actually being masterminded by the Federal Government with active connivance of Christian leadership in the country.

He stressed that the ammunition to be procured with the stashed cash was likely meant to empower Boko Haram insurgents against innocent people, adding that those behind insurgency in the country had been exposed.

“It is clear to us that this contraption of Boko Haram is a clear product of connivance between the Christians Association of Nigeria and the Federal Government”, he said.

He, noted that any attempt to smear Islam and the Muslims in the terror campaign would fail as such move in the past ended in futility.
